Welcome to Year 2! On this page you can find some useful information about our work in English, Maths and History for this half term. We may also share pictures and news from other areas of learning.

Our current English text is 'The Owl Who was Afraid of the Dark' by Jill Tomlinson.

This half-term, in History our area of learning is The Throne - Lives of Significant Individuals.

In maths, the children will be using their knowledge of number bonds and fact families to solve a variety of addition and subtraction problems. Children will recap the names of 2D and 3D shapes and move on to describe their properties and group shapes based on this. Children will also be introduced to symmetry.

Our afternoons will be filled with Art, PSHE, RE, Science, PE and Forest School. Children will continue to attend swimming sessions one morning per week and will begin their Linking Project sessions in preparation for the Spring.
