On this page you can find some useful information about our class work in Phonics and Literacy, Maths and our foundation subjects for each half term.
This half-term, in English we will be focusing on the book, ‘The Curious Case of the Missing Mammoth which is an adventure story about a Mammoth who is lost in the museum.
In Maths, children will be looking at counting and place Value up to 50 so any help from home counting forwards and backwards from these numbers and recognising them would be very helpful. The children will be learning to count on and back from different values in between.
In Science we will be revisiting learning about materials and looking at properties of different materials and their uses. We will be making predictions and performing simple tests on different materials to check their suitability for different purposes.
In History we are going to be learning about toys and the children will be talking about past and present and old and new. We will be having a trip to the museum to participate in a workshop and look at toys from different eras.
This Half term 1H will be using Forest School on Fridays so Wellies and gloves and a hat would be very much appreciated. Children will still need a PE kit for PE on Thursdays. 1J will be working with the sports coach on Fridays so PE kits are needed for all children.
